Morphological observation of mature female Aspidiotus tamarindi Green (Homoptera : Coccidea : Diaspididae).

Authors have studied morphological features of mature female insect Aspidiotus tamarindi Green, it belongs to family Diaspididae. It is an important pest of Annona squamosa Linn., Mimusops elengi Linn. and Tamarindus indica Linn. This pest almost attacks on the dorsal side of foliage leaves of the host trees but occasionally it is also found on the new twigs and fruits. In Aspidiotus tamarindi (Green) the body shape of adult female is somewhat circular and the pygidial part tapering posterior wards.
